MiniBars™ Macro Fiber Reinforcement for Concrete Structures

Concrete has traditionally been reinforced using steel bars or steel mesh. While effective in tension, steel reinforcement introduces well-known challenges such as corrosion, heavy weight and complex installation.

MiniBars™ is an advanced composite macrofiber reinforcement system developed by ReforceTech to improve the performance, durability and sustainability of concrete structures.

Unlike conventional steel reinforcement, MiniBars™ is based on fiber reinforced polymer technology using either basalt fiber or alkali-resistant glass fiber. The fibers are engineered to distribute reinforcement throughout the concrete structure rather than concentrating it in a limited number of bars.

This approach improves crack control, increases structural durability and simplifies production processes for precast concrete and infrastructure elements.

Key advantages of MiniBars™ reinforcement include:

  • Corrosion-free reinforcement

  • Reduced structural weight

  • High tensile performance

  • Improved crack control

  • Faster installation in precast production

  • Reduced lifecycle maintenance costs

Because MiniBars™ does not corrode, it is particularly well suited for aggressive environments such as marine structures, tunnels, infrastructure and water treatment facilities.

The technology allows engineers to design lighter, longer-lasting and more sustainable concrete structures compared with traditional steel reinforcement solutions.

MiniBars™ reinforcement is supported by European Technical Assessments and CE marking and has been tested in structural concrete applications through independent research and engineering projects.

Applications of MiniBars™ reinforcement include:

  • Precast concrete elements

  • Infrastructure and transportation structures

  • Marine and coastal construction

  • Industrial facilities

  • Tunnels and underground structures
